Hi, I'm Amber ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm a UX/UI Designer with a passion for innovation. I'm all about making life that little bit better, one experience at a time.

My background

Engineer๐Ÿ”ฌโš™๏ธโžœ Research Scientist๐Ÿฅผ๐Ÿงชโžœ UX/UI Designer๐Ÿ’กโœ๏ธ
I have always been fascinated by human behaviour and love observing how we interact with the world around us. I went into science and engineering with a desire to innovate; I want to push the boundaries of technology and design.

During my studies in Engineering I learnt how to solve problems efficiently using logic and reason; the goal was to produce robust solutions that deliver results. Whereas, during my time in research, the goals were driven by curiosity; 'why?' and 'how?'. The combination of these two disciplines has created an invaluable skill set that I think translates seamlessly to both user experience and interaction design. I have vast experience in research and analysis techniques, optimizing systems, and working in multidisciplinary teams.

Why UX/UI?

I decided to pursue UX/UI design because it offers the perfect mix of problem solving and creative freedom to directly impact peoples lives for the better. I am driven by curiosity and truly enjoy the whole design process; from user research and human behaviour, to optimizing information architecture and visual design principles. I believe that good design is rooted in empathy, and by putting the user at the heart of the design process we can ensure accessible products that not only satisfy but amaze.

What else we can talk about

Science ๐Ÿง ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ”‹
During my academic career I've worked on projects from LCD screens, to in-vitro brain chips and solar cells. There's so much I can talk about so ask away!
Hobbies ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ‹๏ธ๐Ÿ’ƒ
From painting, weightlifting, and sewing, to baking, yoga, and Latin dance; I love exploring my interests and keeping active. Next on my list is rollerskating.
Travel ๐ŸŽ’โœˆ๏ธ๐ŸŒ
I love exploring new cultures and meeting people from all over the world. I have a tradition of collecting the most 'touristy' looking shot glass from every country I visit.
