Hi, I'm Amber ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm an Engineer turned UX/UI Designer who loves finding opportunities to create humanized solutions.

My projects โžœ
โ€œPeople ignore design that ignores people.โ€

My approach to...

Design Processes ๐Ÿ”
I follow a flexible, non-linear design process to ensure that the userโ€™s needs are centered throughout all stages of development. This way I can implement new insights through iteration at any time to create adaptable solutions that can keep up.

User Research ๐Ÿ”Ž
It is essential! In order to create impactful solutions we need to truly understand the problem. I love learning about people's stories, their behaviors, and everything else that makes us human in order to ask the right questions.

User Testing ๐Ÿงช
I love testing my designs with real people; whether it's from stakeholders, team members, or the users themselves, all feedback is valuable and helps shape a more meaningful product. I am comfortable implementing various research and analysis methods to dig deep.

Information Architecture ๐Ÿ›๏ธ
I want users to be able to move seamlessly through each experience and by taking the time to draw up a robust framework I can do just that; user flows, empathy journeys, and site maps are my methods of choice.

Design Systems โš™๏ธ
As a former engineer and research scientist, the atomic design approach is second nature to me and I love building interfaces from the ground up. Design systems not only make my experience as a designer easier (and fun), but also result in a dynamic product for great user experiences.

Interface Aesthetics ๐ŸŽจ
I know that the visual aspects of products can either make or break user experiences so I strive to create striking yet enticing interfaces. I rely on good UI practices; incorporating responsive grids, using typography, and colour schemes to craft well-balanced and beautiful interfaces.
